How do you measure the quality of a journal article?

There are several ways in which you can measure the quality of a journal article or journal. This includes:

  • viewing the article's citation counts in either Scopus, Web of Science or Google Scholar (HINT: do a search on the article title)
  • viewing the journal's h index in either Google Scholar, Scopus or Web of Science
  • checking if the journal article is peer reviewed by using a list or the databases
  • viewing lists of journal rankings
