We want more Aboriginal teachers!

The South Australian Department of Education and Child Development (DECD) offers scholarships to support aspiring Aboriginal teachers to complete a teacher education course and successfully transition to permanent employment with the Department.  First round applications close in January.  Second round applications close in April.

More Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Teachers Initiative (MATSITI)[MATSITI logo UniSA]

This national project funded by the Australian government is developing national strategies to increase the number of and retention of Indigenous teachers employed in schools.  UniSA has students currently enrolled who are supported by this program.  Check the link for details on the application process and closing dates.
