Using Ovid ebooks

Reading

To read online, choose the section you want from the Table of Contents on the left side.

Searching

The search box at the top of the page allows searching within an ebook. Enter your search terms and choose Current Book. The search results show a list of places where your search terms appear. Click on a result to be taken to the relevant section of the ebook, with the search terms highlighted in red.

Downloading

Book chapters may be saved by choosing the Save link on the right above the chapter title. You may save as either unformatted ASCII text, or formatted HTML.

Printing

Book chapters can be printed by choosing the Print Preview link on the right above the chapter title. Individual sections of each chapter can be printed by choosing the small printer icon next to the section heading. In each case, you can choose what size to print figures and tables in the section.

Highlighting and annotating

Annotations cannot be added directly to book text in Ovid. However, if you've created a personal account on Ovid, you are able to add annotations to chapters by saving them to a project.

Choose the Add to My Projects link on the right above the chapter title, and either add to an existing project or create a new one. View the project by choosing My Workspace in the bar at the top of the screen and selecting your project from the list on the left side. You can then add annotations to each chapter in the project by choosing the Annotate link underneath the chapter listing.
