Search the Catalogue for publications containing examples of work by:
The Library Catalogue contains over millions of records, in every discipline. Some search terms will find publications from multiple fields - e.g. architecture will find results both to do with building design and computer science.
This is one reason why, if you're looking for journal articles, it can be more efficient to search a subject specific database such as Art & Architecture Archive.
One way to increase the relevancy of your results in the Catalogue is to use Subject headings (also called Subjects or Descriptors) when searching. You can see these in many catalogue and database records. For example:
Subject headings reflect the major themes of a work.
While this can be a powerful way to make your search results more relevant, this search method also means that you might miss seeing results for some publications that don't have subject headings or different subjects headings to the ones you've chosen - so it's worth trying the broader keyword search as well!
