Business: BUSS 2065: Business Operations - Assessment 1

1. Assessment 1: Report

For Assessment One you will need to submit a report, answering individual questions for three case studies. This assignment help has been created to assist you in finding academic references to support your report.

The case studies and questions are available from your course site. Please see your course outline and course site for the full assessment details.

2. Plan your search

Before you start searching you should:

  • Identify the main concepts within your topic or question
  • Think of alternative words or synonyms you could also search for

Using a mindmap or table can help you brainstorm and organise the concepts and ideas you want to explore in your searching.

Below is an example of a table.

Case Study Key concepts
One management, retail sector, sales performance, operations, challenges, skills
Two sustainability, social impact, corporate social responsibility, environmental footprint, triple bottom line, operations
Three marketing, marketing strategies, segmentation, operations, consumers, branding

To learn more about planning your search please look at the below resources

3. What are academic sources?

You have been asked to find a minimum of 4 academic references including three scholarly (peer reviewed) journal articles.

Academic sources can be referred to scholarly sources or peer reviewed (refereed). These can include journal articles, books, book chapters, reports and other sources.  To find out more about academic sources look at the below resources

Tip: When searching in the library catalogue you can filter your results to show only 'peer reviewed'

4. Find academic references

The Library Catalogue can be a useful starting point in locating academic sources

An example search in the library catalogue

Use Tweak my results: on the left hand side to refine search by:

  •  Peer Reviewed
  •  Date eg 2015 to 2019
  • Full text online

Google Scholar is also a good place to search to find scholarly material. An advantage of Google Scholar is that it provides access to the full text of many UniSA scholarly/academic articles if you connect to it via the link above, or from the Library home page

Tip: The Advanced search option gives more flexibility when you search (note you will have to click on the hamburger menu  then select Advanced search).

Business Source Complete is the world's definitive scholarly business database, covering all things business.
