Types of AI: Functionality
Narrow AI
Narrow Artificial Intelligences are designed to perform a specific task and can usually do so better faster and more efficiently than humans. They compute, recognise patterns in the data they’ve been trained on, identify images, etc.
Artificial General Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence that is maximally broad intelligence, the ability to accomplish any goal – including learning - as well as humans (Tegmark, 2017, p. X – Chapter 2).
Artificial Super Intelligence
Artificial Super Intelligence is Artificial General Intelligence that surpasses every human in most professions. This does not yet exist (Bryk, n.d.).
