Using AccessEngineering (McGraw Hill)

Reading

Select a chapter or section heading. From here you can select hyperlinked subheadings if  necessary.

Most AccessEngineering resources display on a standard web browser. This platform is also optimized to work on any mobile device with a browser. However, some specialized functionality, such as the DataVis Material Properties tool, can only be used on a computer.

Javascript must be installed for certain features to work, such as interactive graphs.

Searching

Use the search box at the top of the page or the Browse by Subject, Industry, Course or Codes & Standards options. These options are displayed underneath the search box.

Downloading

Once a chapter is selected via the table of contents, a blue ‘download PDF’ box will display. Selecting this box will allow you to save a PDF version of the chapter you are viewing onto your device.

Printing

PDFs of chapters or sections may be printed. Use the Print option in your PDF viewer.

Highlighting and annotating

After a chapter is selected via the table of contents, multiple options will appear next to the ‘download PDF’ button including: ‘cite’, ‘share’, ‘bookmark’, ‘labels’ and ‘annotate’.

You will need to sign up for a free Hypothesis account to use these features.

Once logged in, drag your cursor along a sentence or paragraph to select text. This will bring up an ‘Annotate/Highlight’ pop up box.
