UniSA ORCID iD Registration

Benefits:

  • Registering your ORCiD with UniSA simplifies the management of your ORCiD record - it takes 2 minutes to register.
  • Once you have registered or created your ORCiD with UniSA we will be able to automatically add or update the Works sections of your profile with the details of research outputs sourced from the UniSA Research Outputs Repository
  • If you already have an ORCiD, you should still register it with UniSA. Registering your ORCiD with UniSA ensures that outputs that are processed into the UniSA Research Outputs Repository will be checked against your ORCiD, and added if required.

Communication, visibility and access:

  • You will receive a notification email either to your ORCiD inbox or your primary email address every time we make changes on your behalf
  • You can can control the visibility settings of each section of your ORCiD
  • You can revoke access to UniSA at anytime. Access can be revoked by clicking the Revoke authorisation link on the UniSA ORCiD Registration page

What you need to do:

  • If you already have an existing ORCiD ID please see Registering your ORCiD with UniSA below
  • If you do not have an existing ORCiD ID you can create one with UniSA. Please see Creating an ORCiD with UniSA below

NEW: Please note that access to the ORCiD@UniSA application is only available via VPN or on-campus.

Registering your existing ORCiD with UniSA

If you have an existing ORCiD iD you can register it with UniSA. You must be on campus or access via VPN to complete the registration below:

  • Go to https://orcid.unisa.edu.au
  • Click on Connect your existing ORCID iD underneath the Create your ORCID iD button. This will either be underneath the Create your ORCID iD button or underneath Register your ORCID iD with UniSA

  • You will be taken to ORCiD’s sign in page
  • Sign in using your ORCiD credentials
  • Allow University of South Australia to update your employment and publications on your behalf by clicking Authorize
  • Your registration is now complete. Your details will be updated shortly. Note only your current primary UniSA occupancy will be added. You may want to add and/or display additional occupancies to this section
  • Click on 'Return to my profile' to view your UniSA My ORCID iD page
  • You will be able to see your ORCiD iD
  • Click on your ID to be linked through to your profile in ORCiD
  • You will be able to view and edit your ORCiD profile

Creating an ORCiD with UniSA

Please note you must be on campus or access via VPN to complete the registration below.

  • Go to https://orcid.unisa.edu.au
  • Check that the following details are correct
    • Given names
    • Surname
    • Email address
  • Click on Create your ORCID iD

  • Your first name, last name and UniSA email will be prepopulated.
  • Create and confirm your ORCiD password. It is recommended you add a secondary personal email address so you do not lose access if you leave the University
  • Under Visibility select Everyone to ensure your profile is visible
  • Accept the terms of use, select ‘I am not a robot’ and click on register
  • Allow University of South Australia to update your employment and publications on your behalf by clicking Authorize
  • Your registration is now complete. Your details will be updated shortly. Note only your current primary UniSA occupancy will be added. You may want to add and/or display additional occupancies to this section
  • Click on Return to my profile to view your UniSA My ORCID iD page
  • You will be able to see your ORCiD iD
  • Click on your ID to be linked through to your profile in ORCiD
  • You will be able to view and edit your ORCiD profile
