EndNote is a reference management tool that facilitates collaboration and streamlines research.
Other reference tools such as Zotero and Mendeley are freely available on the internet but not supported by UniSA.
UniSA staff and students have access to Mendeley Institutional Edition. If you have a Mendeley account, you will automatically be upgraded to the Institutional Edition. There are self-help guides and support available on their website.

Before you start using EndNote, here's what you need to know.
*UniSA only provides support for EndNote 20 and EndNote 21
Before you begin installing:
When you create a new library, an ENL file (.enl) and a DATA folder (.Data) will be created. Keep them in the same location with matching names.
By default, new libraries save to Desktop, change to save to Applications folder (does not sync with iCloud). Alternatively, save to Desktop or Documents folder but disconnect from iCloud first:
Preferences allow you to customise your EndNote experience. While optional, we recommend setting preferences to help EndNote work with UniSA resources:
In the left menu, select Find Full Text. Update with the following:
To access PDFs subscribed to by the University of South Australia, in the left menu, select URLs & Links then copy and paste these URLs:
Select Apply then OK.
Save your work on a USB or personal drive before logging off. Once the PC is rebooted, all added files will be cleared.
If you are using EndNote over multiple devices we recommend using EndNote online.
Use after leaving the University.
If you have an account with Web of Science or InCites (databases) then your login details will be the same for EndNote. Alternatively register in EndNote > Help > EndNote online, or via this link:
The EndNote desktop account will not be accessible after leaving University of South Australia. UniSA does not consider Alumni to be authorised users and does not purchase any licensed software for Alumni. Alumni are not covered by the Acceptable use of IT policy https://i.unisa.edu.au/policies-and-procedures/university-policies/corporate/c-22/.
You will still be able to access your free EndNote online account.
