INFT 1028 UO Introduction to Digital Media: Video Production & Post-Production

Introduction

This page will get you started in conducting research for the continuous assessment 2 Promotional Video

Your assessment requires you to create a promotional video based on your work in Assessment 1.1. The video should:

  • Be engaging and creative, and promote your chosen product and message
  • Include original video
  • Include a soundtrack and other audio (if you need to use external audio, these must be copyright free and referenced in the credits)
  • Include credits and be copyright compliant

Consult your course site for more information about the assessment.

Create soundtrack

Your soundtrack can be an original composition created using sound editing software such as Garageband or it can be sourced from a copyright-free website. Remember to also have at least one other type of sound in your video, not just music. A voice-over, sound effects or dialogue could reveal the message or information about the product.

Copyright, credits and talent release

One of the assessment aims of the Promotional Video is that you develop an understanding of audio-visual copyright principles. Note also that credits and release forms make up ten per cent of your total possible marks.
