Plan your search

Once you have chosen your company, visit their website. Key information to find out:

  1. Is your company Australian or international?
  2. Is your company private or public?
  3. What industry/market does your company fit into?
  4. What is their mission?

Tip: Also look at your company's social media accounts which are key communication tools.

High growth firms

For examples of young high growth companies look at The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 2023 Australian program, which profiles and ranks the fasted growing public and private technology companies in Australia, based on percentage of revenue growth over 3 years (2021-2023).  

Searching in business databases

Passport

Below is an example search in Passport for the company MODIBODI, who make period and incontinence underwear.

  1. On the Home Page, select the Industries heading and relevant subheadings.  

  2. Scroll down to the Explore Analysis box. Select Country Report, your product category, and the region. Select GO.

  3. Your country report should automatically open.

  4. Using the menu at the top of the report, you can navigate through different information such as industry analysis, datagraphics, and related industries.

IBISWorld

  1. Type your chosen industry into the search box.
  2. Use the Country filter to select Australia and the Reports filter to select Industry (the results list will update automatically).
  3. Select the industry report that is relevant. When in a report the menu on the left hand side allows you to navigate easily to sections of the report, including Competitive Forces and Companies
  4.  When in an industry report, the lightning bolt symbol next to it indicates that a Risk Rating Report is available for that industry - click to access.
